I love XM my suburban came with it and i loved it so much we got one for our other car....and if you pay for 3 years ahead you get a pretty good discount ....its like 6.99 a month I want to put it in my boat but the stereo that my Sea Ray came with has Sirus and i dont want another bill ....Looking to find a dealer who will install the XM antenna well good luck mike selling it but i understand . But for us driving from Oceanside it is the best........

Quote (RIVERRATMIKE @ Mar. 01 2004,12:02 am) | the XM radio used to be great when I used to live in Orange, CA and driving back and forth across the desert, heading to the river, the XM radio was great! |
I hear that, where I'm at I can pick up a station just about all the way to the river!. But I remember going across the deset before, can't pick up anything out there!..

The big difference used to be that Sirius had all commercial free music. XM used to pipe in some of their music from broadcast stations. That's the biggest reason I went with Sirius.
A couple months ago, XM went all commercial free with the music, much as Sirius does. Each has their own DJ's for each station.
I believe Sirius still charges a few $$ more a month, but I've talked to people that have had reception problem in some part of the country with XM. Sirius is all satalite, while XM has some terrestrial repeaters to fill in the blank spots. Something about XM's satalites at a different inclination, they are closer to the horizon.
I've got the FM modulator, simply because my unit (hehe, I said unit) get's moved from vehicle to vehicle. Hard wired units have to have a different subscription for each reciever, so multiple cars would require multiple units. Sirius offers family plans with discounts for each additional reciever.
You can pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, or multiple years for Sirius, with price breaks the more you pay in advance. I'm on quarterly, billed through my visa.
A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.
