Question below..

I have 4-Clarion marine (4ohm/100watts) style speakers in my boat.
I have 2-Spectrum (4ohm/120watts) on my wake board tower.

I'm getting a Bass tube with Amp together or speaker box w amp soon.

I have one 4-channel amp for the 4 speakers inside my boat and am looking to get another amp for the 2 tower speakers.

re-cap speakers- 6-mid/high range and 1-sub.

Can the two batteries hold the power/alternator also. Any suggestions...Is there a better way to hook up all the speakers.

I would put a third battery on your boat and run it in a circuit with your #1 battey.  Thats what I did.
I have a stock alternator and it is working fine.

Thanks Tuna for the reply... hey off the topic, where is Kokomo bar/dance club. Is it next to crazy horse campgrounds or on the other side of Havasu bridge?

It's on the other side of the bridge in the London Bridge Resort.  From the Island, go over the bridge and go into the first driveway on the right.  Walk down to the channel and it's centered with the marina in front of the London Bridge Resort.  Kokomo is actually located in the building, but you get to it from the channel side.  Once you're by the marina, you can't miss it. :)

I'm going to put a 3rd battery in also
When you say circuit do you mean just hook it up to my #2 Battery

I have a PERKO swich so I would have 2 batteries on one setting and then my start up battery on the other

Hope that makes sense
Not that great with electric stuff

My 2 cents to add is depending on how much of a sub you are going to put in there, when the stereo is up high there will be a large draw at the hits which can mess with EFI motor computers.  I ran into this everyonce in a while installing stereos at circuit city.  The best way around that is to install a farad capacitor or "Cap" and it evens out the power draw so there is less of a spike.

But that might not apply if you are going to run one battery dedicatied for the stereo...

Good luck!

:stupid
i'm not getting a good ground on my stereo...
it plays for like 2 seconds and fades...
turn it off, and back on.... does the same...??

the head unit is powered by one battery, the two amps are off another... 400w for 4 clarion 6" speakers and a 500w for the MTX 10" sub...
it sounded great till i got stuck faced into 2 big boat wakes coming together... couldnt turn, boats all around.... figured
:hitit  and  :hitit hard.... that was the end of the tunes.
:banghead
the grounds to the amps are good, not sure why its shutting down...
any ideas...?     :stupid

Not enough power, my 1500 watt mono is doing that at around 25 on the headunit...way too much power going out of the battery to work right.....more batterys, farad caps.........( . )( . )............

What size cap would i need...?
should i just run the amps off a stand alone battery, thats not hooked to the charging system?

i've got 2 battery switchs, so i could run 4 batts..
but i only have the 2 with a single switch on each.

who's got a good wire diagram for a simple second battery?
the switches are all wired at the back of the panel, but i dont see where the cables are going for the second batterys...?
uggggg....    :beat

ok.... got it... (you guys are soo cool... i just had to look.)

so.... if they are already wired at the switches... with just ONE battery... all i should need is a length of cable and ends.
and get a second battery for each side...

so i can swap out after hours of serious tunes...
:bebe  :beer
and not drain the starting batteries.
(ok so its 2am and i'm loosing my mind)   :bebe

I am installing a third battery in my boat this weekend.  Its getting 3 subs 2 add'l 6.5 speakers and 2 amps.  I will be running a total of 8 - 6.5" speakers and 3- 10" subs with 2 amps to power everything and a switch to control 2 different zones in case anyone wants to go in the cabin to get away from the noise and chaos.

That way the sound system can run off of 2 batteries and I will have the 3rd battery to start my motor.

SWEET...
i just cant see me cutting any fiberglass right now....
i've got 2 subs but usually only take one, its a truk box that i put down in the center, or where the potty would be if its out
i have 2 more new 6.5's in the box, but they are spares for now.

i need a new head unit, thats compatible with my wired remote (clarion crap)... so i can control it at the helm instead of goin below to turn it up/down whatever.

and them blue tops aint cheep...  :eek

TRUE... most of the sound can only be heard in or on the boat.

I love those redneck looking coolers with the stereo built into them... i think they have their own battery and they are pretty much water proof too..    :stupid

Just set that sucker on the back deck and rock out with you chicken out...  :eek
